“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” (1 Corinthians 9:24)

The Amazing race is a reality show on CBS were contestants race around the world. The eleven contestants will compete in a series of mental and physical challenges along the way. They will slowly be eliminated throughout the process while on their quest for the one million dollars prize. Even though there are 11 teams that start the race only one team in the end will win, and come home with one million dollars.
Even though we're not racing for one million dollars, we all are racing in the contest of life. Although we all are racing in this contest of life our end goals may be different. Some of us may be racing to get rich, were some are racing to travel as many places as possible. Some of us are racing to get a family, and some to have as much fun as possible. However, we’re all racing to get closer to God.
Wherever you are in this race doesn’t matter. All that matters is that your running, and your running in such a way to get the prize (being closer to God). You could be as far in your race as Billy Graham, or you could of just crossed the start line it doesn't matter. All that matter is the way your running/racing. Are you racing as hard as you physically and mentally can, or are you taking it easy going off course every chance you get. Though God is happy your racing for him he wants you to chase him as hard as you can. Not going off course by the sins of the world.
Their are only two men in the bible who we believe never experienced a physical death Elijah and Enoch. Enoch is only mentioned less than a handful of times in the bible, but is most popularly known in Genesis 5:24 “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” Enoch is an example of how you run the race. I believe Enoch was so far ahead of everyone in his race for God that God gave him the prize of eternal life.
Now ask yourself how does your race look, are you running in such a way to get the prize or are you constantly going off course. What are some other things your racing for in your life. These are only questions you can answer, but I want to encourage you to run after God with all you have.
